NVDA (NonVisual Desktop Access) is a free and open-source screen reader for Windows that allows blind and visually impaired users to access and interact with computers using speech synthesis and Braille displays. It reads text from applications, web browsers, menus, documents, terminals, and system interfaces while providing keyboard-based navigation for nearly all parts of the operating system. NVDA supports modern accessibility APIs such as UI Automation, IAccessible2, and Microsoft Active Accessibility, allowing it to work with software like web browsers, Office applications, development tools, and many custom apps.
